To configure the Wi-Fi settings directly on the phone, start by navigating through the menu options. First, go to Menu, then select System, and from there, choose Wi-Fi Settings.
Once you have accessed the Wi-Fi settings, follow these steps carefully to connect your device to a wireless network:
Begin by ensuring that the Wi-Fi function is enabled. You can do this by setting the option labelled Wi-Fi to Enabled. After enabling Wi-Fi, make sure to save this configuration by pressing the Save button.
Next, initiate a scan for available wireless networks by selecting the Scan option.
The phone will then search for nearby Wi-Fi networks, and you should wait patiently until your network's SSID (Service Set Identifier) appears in the list of detected networks.
Once your Wi-Fi network is visible, select it from the list. You will then be prompted to enter the network password. Carefully input the correct Wi-Fi password to ensure a successful connection.
After entering the password, confirm the connection by selecting the appropriate option, often labelled as Confirm or Connect. Upon successful connection, the phone should automatically obtain an IP address via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). Following this, the device will register the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) account as normal, allowing it to operate over the wireless network.
If the “Wi-Fi Settings” Option is Not Visible
In some cases, you might not see the “Wi-Fi Settings” option on the phone's menu. This situation can occur because the GRP2614 model can be provisioned to hide the Wi-Fi menu from the device interface. To verify or alter this setting, you will need to access the phone's web interface.
Within the web interface, navigate to the following path: Network → WiFi Settings. Here, you will find an option to enable or disable Wi-Fi.
The available settings for Wi-Fi visibility include No, Yes, and Off & Hide Menu from LCD. If the phones you are working with have been previously configured using a provisioning template, it is possible that this template has been set to hide the Wi-Fi menu on the device's LCD screen. To restore access to the Wi-Fi settings on the phone, you will need to adjust this configuration accordingly.
